No one wants to find themselves on the wrong side of the law or even behind bars for that matter.
Recently, ATL’s T.I admitted that his dead cousin took the fall for him in a criminal case to avoid jail time. However, the one incident proved pointless since the rapper ended up serving time behind bars for his other wrong doings.
T.I Tries To Save His Own Skin
For years, there’s been rumors that T.I is a “snitch” in the streets. The rapper may have previously evaded the rumors before, but this time, he’s not denying anything. During a resurfaced August 2020 episode of his epediTlously podcast, the Atlanta rapper recalled letting his late cousin Toot take the fall for him in a gun case in the early 2000s.
Furthermore, the “Live Your Life” emcee explained that he and Toot ran a hustle in Atlanta involving stolen clothes. One day, a policeman stopped them and found a gun in Tip’s possession. It didn’t take long before the two were charged with gun charges.
Unfortunately, the rapper’s cousin was murdered during the court proceedings. Even so, T.I claimed that he received Toot’s blessing from beyond the grave to take on all the gun charges. “We caught those gun cases, Toot died. My lawyer said, ‘Well, you know, I could make everything go away if it was Toot’s, it was Tremel’s,’” he said. Talk about bad family ties. T.I snitched on his own cousin, so he could avoid going to jail.
He Still Ends Up Facing Jail Time
While T.I put all the blame on his dead cousin Toot in a previous gun case, that didn’t keep the rapper away from the police. Moreover, the ATL rapper found himself behind bars for one crime or another all on his own. In 2009, The King emcee spent several months in federal prison in 2009 for a weapons arrest. During that same case, he struck a plea deal. In the end, karma caught up with the rap star.
