Rising Los Angeles-via-Virginia recording artist Taz Tikoon has been an artist on the rise since day one. Her debut mixtape, Late Nights to Fame, Vol. 1, allowed her to share the stage with Hip-Hop superstars Questlove of The Roots, Jadakiss, and Styles P. In 2021, her previous projects Prisontation: Life In A Sentence and By The Bar, Vol. 1 caught the attention of Rick Ross, who began following the rising star’s social media activity. Now, she chronicles her growth with the release of her latest EP, titled Airplane Mode.
In the latest release, Taz Tikoon showcases her lyrical evolution with eight new songs that address family, friends, spirituality and wealth. Featuring collaborations with buzzworthy artists Chanel Sosa and Corey Benjamins, the project includes breakout tracks “Turbulence,” “Heir Waves” and “First Class.” Appealing, inspirational and impactful, the brand new project is distributed by Steve Stoute’s popular United Masters imprint.
“I created Airplane Mode to disconnect to reconnect to my higher self,” Taz says in a press release. “Sometimes your elevation requires isolation. I wanted to get higher while still being grounded. I had to cut off a lot of people so that I could get closer to God. When a person puts their phone in airplane mode it’s either because they’re flying or they don’t want to be reached.”
Aside from the co-signs and music, Taz Tikoon is best known for the Los Angeles-based media company, The C.A.S. Agency, a full-service consulting company specializing in media coverage and event production. The agency spawned monthly events and quickly became respected as a cultural fixture. Prior to becoming a recording artist, music has been the cornerstone of all of Taz’s creative endeavors.

ABOUT TAZ TIKOON
Taz Tikoon began her entrepreneurial endeavours on the campus of Howard University, launching her heritage-inspired clothing line Anceztaz. She received her initial start-up investment from famed Nike marketing executive Sonny Vaccaro, most known for he signing Michael Jordan to his first sneaker deal, and went on to receive additional funding for the brand from ’48 Laws of Power’ author, Robert Greene.
While attending HU, Taz seamlessly transitioned into the world of media as a hip-hop journalist due to her network in the fashion industry. Serving as an on-air host for WHBC campus radio station, she simultaneously created a web-series titled The Tazmania Show. The platform allowed her the opportunity to travel to London as well as Paris and gain exclusive access to some of the biggest music festivals. As a result, she interviewed several Grammy Award-winning musicians such as Ne-Yo, John Legend, 9th Wonder, Skippa Da Flippa, and Young Guru.
Continuing to conquer the entertainment industry, she moved from behind the camera into the booth and released her first mixtape Late Nights to Fame, Vol. 1, eventually finding herself sharing the stage with Questlove of The Roots, Jadakiss, and Styles P. She later released Two Much, Art Official, Seven Five, and Hampton; odes to her hometown of Hampton.
After graduating from Howard, she launched The C.A.S. Agency; a full-service consulting company specializing in media coverage and event production. The agency spawned monthly events and quickly became respected as a cultural fixture. Prior to becoming a recording artist, music has been the cornerstone of all of Taz’s creative endeavors. She uses art as a way to express her thoughts and stance on a plethora of topics. In 2019, she released an EP titled Mentally Ill that discusses her personal struggles with depression and anxiety. In conjunction with the PSA-styled body of work, she became a mental health advocate and spoke to over 20,000 students about the importance of mental wellness.
