Texas Rapper Go Yayo Out of Jail

Go Yayo, also known as Kyrin Xavier Peters, was officially released from prison on April 15, 2025. After being involved in a complicated legal case spanning years, the 28-year-old artist is once more in the public eye, stirring both the press and the public’s imagination. For both followers of his hard, high-energy sound and of the larger hip-hop story, the release is not only a legal milestone — but a cultural touchstone in the Dallas-Fort Worth rap landscape.

While others rejoice at his return as the new installment in a storied history, others observe warily. But there’s no question about it: Go Yayo’s resurgence is news.

Kyrin Xavier Peters initially caused a stir in the Texas rap scene under the moniker Go Yayo, emerging from the city’s streets and armed with gritty lyrics and a tenacious work ethic. Beginning at the age of 19 following a prior jail stay, he quickly gained a devoted fan base among the locals by way of tunes such as “Boom” and “IDK.”

His first two albums, Super Saiyon Yayo and Good Dope Volume 1, also displayed a raw but catchy sound, informed by personal strife and street life. With a penchant for provocation and a presence in front of the camera, Go Yayo wasn’t just a rapper — he was the embodiment of Fort Worth’s underground sound, uncompromised and unbowed.

In 2022, Go Yayo’s burgeoning star was dimmed by severe legal woes. After a police chase at high speed and federal firearms charges, he was sentenced to serve 63 months in prison, the equivalent of more than five years. Previously, he had already had a period of time free on bond under charges of multiple crimes, including one of Obstruction or Retaliation, before being remanded in custody on no bail.

While in prison, the length of his sentence was increased due to a series of infractions — including the possession of prohibited items such as cell phones and cigarettes — which pushed back the date of his possible early release. Once, having served almost four years, he was released briefly only to be rearrested as a fugitive of justice. In spite of the difficulties, sentence reductions and time served have cleared the way for official release in April. Although precise legal conditions of release are not publicly available, various sources — including a No Jumper post on X and a viral video on YouTube — have authenticated the return home.

To date, no new legal complaints have been lodged against the rapper. Recent pictures of him available on the web depict him at ease at home, generating debate both amongst the fans and the critics.

GO YAYO EXPOSED

Reactions on social media were mixed. Some of his fans embraced his return, hoping for more music and a second chance. Others remain doubtful — wondering if Go Yayo can manage to keep himself out of trouble long enough to mount a genuine comeback.

While behind bars, he left enthusiasts with a passionate message:

“When they release me out of this cell it’s that on my kids!!!”

Now, in possession of liberty, the question is if he will use that passion to revive his career.
