Sources have confirmed that his look is a result of makeup, not surgery. The Weeknd’s “new face” caught social media attention, with Entertainment Tonight calling it “obviously fake.” True fans understand that the transformation of his appearance throughout his videos makes sense.

    According to ET, one fan on Twitter expressed that [he] is revealing the constant pressure he feels to be ‘perfect’ due to the industry and Grammys. They mentioned the botched-up face and predicted a possible ‘alone again’ music video where he learns self-love.

    The Weeknd Feels Unappreciated, Underrated 

    After “After Hours” received no Grammy nominations, The Weeknd tweeted, “The Grammys are corrupt. We deserve transparency.”

    Rumors spread that The Weeknd’s plans to perform at the 2021 Super Bowl impacted his Grammy nominations. However, Harvey Mason Jr., the Recording Academy’s chair and interim president/CEO, shot that rumor down.

    “We understand The Weeknd’s disappointment for not getting nominated,” he told Billboard. “His music this year was excellent, and we were thrilled about his Super Bowl performance. Voting for all categories ended before the Super Bowl announcement, so it couldn’t have affected nominations.”
