Tom Holland revealed that he and his co-star, Zendaya, have already read the script of highly anticipated ‘Spider-Man 4.’ The excitement is palpable, considering how very excited Holland has appeared to be in response to this draft.
Holland, 28, sounded off on the script during an appearance on the “Rich Roll” podcast on October 17. “We have a creative pitch and a draft, which is great,” he said, passion fueling every word. Holland has been starring as Spider-Man in six films and described how reading the script across from co-star Zendaya really fired up the creative juices in them both.
“I read it three weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me,” he said. “Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and we at times were bouncing around the living room. Like, this is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect.”
As the next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Spider-Man 4 is sure to build upon the rich tapestry of character development and themes that have captured audiences in previous films. Holland has even revealed that the script has “lit a fire” within him, signaling a deeply engaging narrative on the horizon-one that he believes will resonate profoundly with fans.
Behind the scenes, though, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has hinted at real momentum on the project-which would suggest a structured development phase is well underway. Holland himself has also voiced a strong wish to see Miles Morales into the MCU, possibly as a sort of mentee to his Peter Parker, something that could lead to an entirely new set of storytelling opportunities and further expand the Spider-Man universe.
Although she hasn’t said anything about Spider-Man 4, rumors say that her character MJ is going to be way more involved this time. Given how emotionally heavy the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home was, many fans are just hoping things will go way easier for MJ this time and the storyline really fronts MJ’s relationship with Holland’s Peter Parker, allowing the audience a little more depth into those characters.
From director Destin Daniel Cretton, who gave the world the critically acclaimed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Spider-Man 4 tries to balance action with contemplative representation in setting a new tone for the beloved franchise. He takes over directing from Jon Watts, who helmed the first three films.
With anticipation for Spider-Man 4 just great, rumors are at an all-time high over which direction it will go in. Speculations hint at a Multiversal exploration that might just bring back some of the favorite Spider-Men from the previous generation, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
Moreover, rumors of symbiotes joining the fight that could add characters like Venom have fans’ tongues wagging in anticipation.
