Nonetheless, Dichotomi makes it clear in “STF 17” that she wants to go back to better times. Moreover, the Toronto artist made the song during the pandemic, when they were sick. Dichotomi imagines “better times and fantasize about the summers in Toronto.” Their joy shines through “STF 17”, as Dichotomi’s clever wordplay and vibey flow make the song come to life.

Like most artist, alternative rap artist Dichotomi is always looking for new ways to mix up their sound. More than anything though, they remain an authentic artist. Despite the odd name of her newest single “STF 17,” the song doesn’t disappoint in its execution. The track brims with all-around feel good vibes and a message of hope at its core. While the artist aimed to craft a track that aimed to inspire and uplift others during Covid-19, it also carried a political message.
When discussing the inspiration for the song, Dichotomi explains, “The track started to reflect the political and social pressures that put me in a vulnerable position.” Despite the unstable condition of our country, the Toronto-artist encourages others not to fall into despair over our situation. Rather, they want us to focus on better times and enjoy life again.
