Toronto’s Papi AQ has been releasing his patented “Spanglish” style of music since 2018. The Mexican-born artist moved to Canada in 2002, and has been focused on “devoting himself to uniting the Latino community while rapping in two tongues”. Working out of The Cook House Recording studio with producer Millz and engineer Aftrparty, Papi AQ has continued to perfect his craft in a unique way. Opening for Kidd Keo in 2018 gave the young artist his initial industry credentials, and has since amalgamated over a million streams on Spotify. Having recently worked with Toronto-based Latin artist, Nanu, Papi AQ is finding his way through the industry. Fans have compared some of his music to that of Bad Bunny, Nio Garcia, and Tory Lanez.
Papi AQ has teamed up with the president of Social Outcasts Entertainment, Samuel Santiago Alves. Social Outcasts Ent. has been putting on showcases in Toronto since the city has reopened by bringing international headliners to contribute to the growth of the local scene. The most recent showcase at Parkdale Hall featured music from Papi AQ, and many other local and international talents. We are certainly excited to hear more from Papi AQ.
