Travis Scott Drops SoFaygo from Cactus Jack Roster After JACKBOYS 2 Reveal

Travis Scott has severed his relationship with SoFaygo on the Cactus Jack label shortly after the highly anticipated JACKBOYS 2 announcement. The decision has sent shock waves through the music industry, with the public and industry pundits buzzing with speculation regarding why the decision has been made and what the implication could be for the artist and the label.

SoFaygo, whose real name is Andre Dontrel Burt Jr., signed with Cactus Jack Records in 2021. Since joining, he has been one of the label’s standout acts, with his distinct sound and increasing popularity on the hip-hop charts. Most expected that he would be a significant contributor to JACKBOYS 2, the label’s follow-up to their hit collaborative album, JACKBOYS, released in 2019. The debut album included Cactus Jack acts and solidified the label as a force in modern rap music.

The JACKBOYS 2 announcement had the community excited for new music and new collaborations with the artist roster on the label. However, the news took a turn when word broke that SoFaygo would be departing the Cactus Jack family. This news has shifted the attention away from the album and towards the reasons why he would be leaving.

Neither Travis Scott nor SoFaygo has publicly addressed the split, leaving room for speculation. Industry observers speculate that creative disagreements or a shift in direction for the label could be the reason.

“It’s not unusual for artists and labels to go their separate ways when their goals diverge,”

said music analyst Matt Daniels.

“This might be a mutual choice to allow both SoFaygo and Cactus Jack to pursue their own paths.”

Leaving Cactus Jack could be a turning point in SoFaygo’s career. On the one hand, he risks losing the backing of a big label with plenty of resources and an already-established fan base. On the other, it could be a chance to take complete control of his artistry and create his brand on his own terms.

“SoFaygo has a loyal fanbase and a unique style,”

noted music critic John Smith.

“He’s got the potential to make it big on his own terms.”

For Cactus Jack, losing a promising artist like SoFaygo might shake up the label’s dynamics, especially as they gear up for JACKBOYS 2. Still, with Travis Scott leading the charge and a roster of other talented acts, the label is well-positioned to weather this change.

“Cactus Jack has always been about adaptability and pushing boundaries,”

said industry expert Alex Johnson.

“They’ll likely keep moving forward with confidence.”
