Unfortunately, the race for Deshaun Watson is over and it’s leaving many teams in limbo. While so many teams showed interest in Watson, they left their own quarterbacks out to dry. Several of these teams’ quarterbacks requested trades as soon as the information surfaced. San Franciso 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo remains on the 49ers roster currently, however, there’s been speculations for several years about the departure of Garoppolo. Last season, they even sent a message by drafting rookie quarterback Trey Lance to let Garrapolo know the direction they were heading in.

However, Garoppolo answers this season by getting to the NFC Championship and losing on the last drive of the game on the road. Garoppolo within the few seasons has warranted criticism based on his mediocre play. In 2021, Jimmy Garrapolo threw 3,810 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. Not to mention, he’s completed over 50% of his passes for the year, according to ESPN.
Jimmy Garoppolo’s ideal fit
The ideal fit for Jimmy Garoppolo would be the Indianapolis Colts, however, they recently just signed former MVP Matt Ryan. Although Garoppolo’s proven not to be the most skilled quarterback, he has won tons of games and even played in a Super Bowl. As the quarterbacks around the league begin to find new homes the dust will settle and teams will reach out. A huge possibility of inquiry is the Seattle Seahawks.
The latest loss of Russell Wilson leaves the Seahawks with Drew Lock as the primary quarterback. Garoppolo is proven and can be the bridge quarterback the Seahawks may need while they attempt to rebuild the organization.
