Philadelphia, PA — The Los Angeles Rams are having a huge year — starting the year 7-0, which is not only the best record in the NFL at the moment but the Rams best start since the 1999 NFL season. The last time they started the season undefeated they won their first six games and went on to play and win Super Bowl 34 against the Tennessee Titans.
The 7-0 start is also their first since 1985. According to Cameron Dasilva of Rams Wire, the difference of 6-0 vs. a 7-0 start has a high level of significance, as 53 of 56 teams to start the season 6-0 since 1970, has gone on to make the Playoffs. The Rams have been very impressive, and if you want to give credit to a certain player, that player has to be Todd Curtly, who is having an unbelievable year.
During last season, Gurley ran for 1,305 yards, 13 touchdowns, and was an M.V.P candidate that was beat out by Tom Brady, who was awarded M.V.P last February. Gurley has already recorded 11 touchdowns on the season, as he is close to what he averaged in touchdowns last season. Gurley has clearly shown he’s not only the best player on the NFL’s best rushing attack , the Los Angeles Rams, but the best running back in the NFL.
According to Pro Football Talk at NBC Sports.com, Gurley is the Rodney Harrison, who has the most sacks of any defensive back in NFL history called Gurley the best running back in the NFL. According to the NFL Gurley has become only the third running back in league history to generate 575 yards from scrimmage, and 7 touchdowns in the first four games of an NFL season.
Gurley is obviously the reason for the Rams recent success, as the Rams are the only undefeated team currently in the NFL. The Rams will attempt to remain the NFL’s only unbeaten team this Sunday, when they host Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.
