Wiz Vs. Wayne: Wiz Khalifa Wants to Face Lil Wayne in a Verzuz Battle

    A Lil Wayne Verzuz?

Be careful what you wish for Wiz.. Apparently Wiz Khalifa wants smoke with Lil Wayne in Verzuz.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Verzuz battles have quickly become a staple of hip-hop/R&B culture. Many big names have faced off on the Verzuz stage, with some of the most streamed battles being Erykah Badu vs Jill Scott and Nelly vs Ludacris. Since its creation, many people have taken to social media to voice what artists they’d want to see go head to head. Many predictions and debates have sparked from it, but no one expected Wiz Khalifa to state that he wanted to battle Lil Wayne.

“HAHAAA! He can’t be serious!” a fan said.

This claim set social media ablaze with jokes about how Wiz doesn’t stand a chance and is delusional for even thinking that a Verzuz with Weezy is a good idea. Seeing as how Wayne has been making Billboard-charting music for over two decades, those making jokes on Twitter may not be wrong about the outcome of the battle. When comparing the two on paper, it already looks bleak for Wiz. The “See You Again” artist has had a total of 35 songs make the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including six songs in the top 10 and 2 No. 1’s. This proves his worth as a rapper but not as a worthy opponent for the legendary Lil Wayne.

Why Lil Wayne is a true hip hop juggernaut

Lil Wayne has had a whopping 183 songs make the Hot 100 charts, including 25 songs in the top 10 and 3 No 1’s… so it’s safe to say he’s one of the greatest hip hop artists we have ever seen. Here’s what makes his catalog even more insane, Lil Wayne’s Billboard Hot 100 doesn’t acknowledge mixtapes! Wayne’s dominance on the Billboard charts is just from his 13 studio albums. His nearly 30 mixtapes are considered a staple in the hip hop community, many of which feature Wayne rapping on the beats of songs that are already popular. Weezy quickly became known for rapping so good other rappers’ beats, people would often forget about the original song. These are just some of the reasons why Wiz Khalifa calling out Lil Wayne was hilariously delusional to many.
