Xanman Drops New Mixtape “I’m A Bad Person”
Rising DMV rapper Xanman has announced today’s release of his eagerly awaited new mixtape and a new visual for one the tape’s lead tracks, “Pain In Me.” I’m A Bad Person is available now for streaming and download here. You can also watch/share “Pain In Me” here.
“I’m A Bad Person” includes exclusive features from NoCap and TisaKorean, alongside the recently released tracks, “Tracktor” and “Different,” both accompanied by equally compelling companion visuals. The latter premiered via The FADER, which wrote, “(Xanman) begins with a melodic croon that quickly turns into a gnarled flow. It’s this flexibility that allows him to be threatening and vulnerable at the same time.”
“Produced by WhoisMike, ‘Different’ is led by a lush arrangement of pan flute notes, vibrant synths and heavy bass drums,” added HYPEBEAST. “Xanman comes through with melodic vocals that blend seamlessly with the groove of the instrumentals.”
What to Expect
I’m A Bad Person follows last year’s acclaimed mixtape, Broken. The mixtape drew raves from the likes of Pitchfork, Complex, HYPEBEAST, and more. Following the viral success of Xanman’s hit track “Gucci Down,” BROKEN emerged as the next breakthrough for the artist. With nearly 7 million streams and counting worldwide, “Gucci Down” gained popularity on TikTok through the “Gucci Down Challenge,” igniting a dance trend with over 88,000 user-generated videos. The track was also accompanied by an energetic remix featuring Rico Nasty and YungManny, available for streaming after its exclusive premiere on Complex.
Hailed by The FADER in their 20th Anniversary issue as “the D.C. area’s most well-rounded newcomer, equally effective at delivering comedy, horror, and romance.” Xanman arrives as a singular new talent with a scorching signature style. The 19-year-old rapper mastered ProTools before even hitting his teens, utilizing a $300 mic gifted to him by his beloved grandmother that he uses to this very day. He dropped his first mixtape in 2013, kicking off a remarkable prolific streak that now includes more than 30 unique projects, resulting in his status as one of Spinrilla’s most famous artists.

2019 saw Xanman reaping love from fellow artists like Rico Nasty and Lil Yachty, as well as wide-ranging critical acclaim, all fueling his rapid rise to rap stardom. While the Washington Post raved about a recent live performance, writing, “Ever catch a rap show that feels so vivid, so brilliant, so dazzlingly present, it seems wrong to talk about it in the past tense?
