Yung Mal has been putting in work all year and us ready to take his career to new heights. Returning to the music scene with his highly anticipated 1.5 Way Or No Way mixtape, he is at the top of his game musically and creatively. From an ambitious up-and-comer to the head of his own label, Yung Mal is carving out his own journey to achievement.
Inspired by his hometown and honoring his late friend Plug, 1.5 Way Or No Way showcases Yung Mal’s growth and versatility. His rhymes have become more refined and his melodies add a new dimension to his flows. With the responsibilities of fatherhood and leadership, he carries the aspirations of his community.
The new project features impressive contributions from some of the South’s most prominent rappers alongside some of Mal’s closest confidants. Look out for beats by Gutta Tay, fellow artist Real Taker from 1.5 Da Label, and long-time collaborator Lil Quill. We can’t leave out bug steppers G Herbo, Lil Gotit, BIG30, and Slimelife Shawty who added vocals help propel this release to the streets.
Mal has dropped a new project, accompanied by a music video for the track “Wassup Wit Me” featuring G Herbo. Produced by KiidMaestro, the song blends confident trap vibes with wistful undertones. The sparkling piano melodies and energetic 808s give the track its power. In the video, directed by Benmarc, Mal envisions a life of luxury in Los Angeles, cruising in his Tesla and partying with Herbo on a rooftop in Downtown L.A.
Yung Mal has been keeping busy in 2021 with a series of high-quality music videos, including “Belaire,” “Look At Me Now,” and “Stay Down.” His upcoming mixtape, 1.5 Way Or No Way, is his first release since his successful projects in 2020: 6 Rings, a collaboration with producer Pyrex Whippa, and Iceberg Sosa, produced entirely by Sosa808. These projects garnered praise from publications like HYPEBEAST and XXL, with standout singles like “Hitstick” and “Own Drip.”
