The series is currently in the early stages of development at Warner Bros. While the plot is being kept under wraps, the series is said to be set in the era of pre-2006 blockbusters—an epic view for fans of the world of the ancient Spartans.
Steering the ship are a few of the original film’s key producers: Deborah Snyder is, of course, executive producing with Zack Snyder. She’s his frequent collaborator and, at the same time, his partner in Stone Quarry. And, then, there’s Wesley Collier, also from Stone Quarry. Of the other producers, Gianni Nunnari and Mark Canton were vital in getting the original 300 on its feet, and Bernie Goldmann was simply essential.
While no writers or actors are attached to the project yet, speculation is rife about the potential direction of the series. The one likely to be intriguing is the one with a possible focus on a young Leonidas, the Spartan king famously graced by Gerard Butler. This goes ahead and gives the audience a great backstory and explanation in what manner the shape of him had turned into the legendary warrior in 300.
With the project still in its early developing stage, there are no details on things like the shooting locations, start times, and release date. With Warner Bros. involved, it would make sense to end up on their streaming platform Max eventually.
And as the possibility of a prequel series reiterates, we die-hard fans just can’t help but be excited about the prospect of the time-tested themes of honor, sacrifice, and epic battle being born again. It brings added excitement to the whole project when one considers the added credibility of Zack Snyder.
