A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Joins Glorilla & Megan Thee Stallion at Sold-Out MSG Show

Hot Girl Summer Scorches Madison Square Garden: Megan Thee Stallion Delivers Sold-Out Spectacle

That is what the air felt like at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night. Thousands of fans, a glittered ocean on the floor pulsating with energy, filed into one of music’s most storied rooms to experience what was undoubtedly a touchstone career moment for Megan Thee Stallion: her first proper arena run as a headliner. So the energy was pure electricity, just a giant love fest for Megan Thee Stallion and that night was something out of my wildest dreams!

The evening lit up with a set by Toronto rising star, GloRilla(favored One from the artist) Instantly, the Memphis native — whose infectious Southern drawl and high-speed sharpword delivery will be a revelation to many — is at full throttle. The audience met each song with a thunderous round of applause, following eagerly along to the last note. And just when you thought things couldn’t get any more lit, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie mysteriously popped up from the woodworks and performed an electric set, including his fan-favorite “Jungle” track alongside GloRilla. This unexpected collaboration was a shot of pure adrenaline, and perfectly set the tone for what would be one surprise after another.

The crowd went increasingly wild as everyone looked onto the platform and saw what was coming next. and a platform dramatically rose from beneath it to reveal a vision in red: Megan Thee Stallion, bedazzled in a glittery jumpsuit and matching boots. Flames wrapped around her, matching the fire that she radiated. Then, “Big Ole Freak” thundered through the speakers and it was as if somebody had hit a button to turn the venue immediately into one giant dance floor. revelers fell into full-on twerking and sing-along mode. The energy did not slow with tracks like “B.I.T.C.H.” and “Body,” Megan handling the stage like a pro at every turn.

Yet, even among the bravado and well-deserved excitement, Megan’s vulnerability shone through. ya Recall how she was overcome with emotion while performing “Cobra?” Then there is her voice, which cracks ever so slightly from time to time – just based on the sheer force of singing words that must feel as real coming out of her mouth every night as when she penned them. (Notoriously hard partying distractible down!) It was a quick moment of weakness, but only brought her fans closer and made the unspoken bond between them travel right through the stage she sang on.

Of course, the night wasn’t done surprising me. By then, the atmosphere was already electric and exploded when none other than Cardi B took to the stage. Taking the stage as a pair of rap powerhouses, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion brought their number ones — “WAP” (featuring Megan) and “Bongos” (with Offset) to light up Madison Square Garden. This was followed by Cardi’s electrifying dance moves, both artistes did well to keep their audience shaking and panting throughout their performance As it turned out, though, the surprises weren’t done. Finally, ever the showman, Cardi went on to rap her verse from GloRilla’s “Tomorrow 2” (before inviting Memphis’ own back up onto the stage), in a high-octane performance.

Things came to a head at the end of the evening when a grand finale “mass” number paid tribute revelry and shared sense of community that remains ever-present through Schmigadoon!. The trifecta of Megan, Cardi and GloRilla took to the stage together to show their undeniable star power. As cues that a “Wanna Be” remix was imminent brought the crowd to its feet once more, closing out an evening that is not likely to be soon forgotten.

Therein lies the real story of Tuesday night’s blast furnace show at a sold–out Madison Square Garden: The unwavering power of Megan Thee Stallion. It was a tribute to her talent, her career, and the way she touches millions. It was a night that many who were in attendance will never forget, an emotional rollercoaster capped by some stunning performances and marked with the uniquely electric atmosphere of people coming together to share their love for music. But the sound of that audience, rumbling through those old halls well after last call was heard, seemed to state clearly one fact: Hot Girl Summer had officially commenced at The Garden. And Megan Thee Stallion reigned as its queen.
