Meek Mill is like a phoenix rising from the ashes.
The Philly rapper is joining hands with Jay-Z to start his very own record label. The exciting news was announced on Tuesday. Meek Mill’s record label will be named after a term he’s been throwing around for years. He’s calling it “Dream Chasers.” The question that remains is did Meek Mill ditch Rozay for Jay-Z?
According to The Blast, both rappers celebrated the tremendous business endeavor by popping bottles of champagne, and of course, signing a contract.
When asked about the new deal, Mill says that it’s an opportunity that he couldn’t imagine doing with anybody else, except Hov.
“Of course I had offers to do a lot of business with other people, but the relationship we’ve built from (Roc Nation) believing in me through my whole career, through my ups and downs and the morals they showed to me and my team when it wasn’t in their best interest to have showed it — I feel comfortable going through this right here at home. We’re ready to work. We’re just starting the beginning of a new chapter, a new page.”
As for Jay-Z, believes that Meek is one of the best rappers in the game to trust.
“His integrity, his honesty, his sense of responsibility,” Jay-Z rattled on about Mill. “Everything that he’s done leading up to this point, it showed that he can carry that weight for the next generation of people. Everybody can sign some artists, make some money and brag about how hot they are for … (but) for us, we look at the big picture. For us, it’s way beyond signing hot artists and having a hot record.”
Jay-Z and Meek have been working together for some time now. A while back they joined forces to help bring a change to the criminal justice system. Above all, how does Rick Ross feel about the entire situation? Will Meek still be apart of MMG?
“Dream Chasers” record label is just them continuing to carry the torch on behalf of the culture.
Thoughts? How do you feel how Meek Mill ditch Rozay for Jay-Z? Who will Meek sign to the new record label? Be sure to let us know by dropping a comment off in the comment section found below.
