“I’m embarrassed for her.” -Stephen Dorff
Stephen Dorff states he’s embarrassed for Scarlett Johansson (who is now pregnant with Colin Jost). He says Marvel and Black Widow is low culture yet his acting credits still leave a lot to be desired. Stephen Dorff for Blu Vaping
Most recently, Stephen Dorff began to trend in his critical response of Scarlett Johansson and Marvel Movies, mainly Black Widow. Of course, he’s not the only one to take a stab at the Pop Culture household name. Martin Scorsese spoke out against Marvel films in 2019. Particularly, popularity in this genre means more films with a superhero lead will be created and marketed. Apparently, not everyone thinks that is a good idea. Stephen Dorff did not hold back when speaking about Marvel’s latest film, Black Widow. Dorff believes that Marvel movies are low culture and takes away from the artistic value of film making.
Is Hollywood Gabage now?
“I don’t like playing things too safe,” Dorff proclaims, “To me, Hollywood’s always too safe.” But, the actor didn’t stop there. Instead, he claims that few people in the entainment business can actually do their jobs. “You have actors that don’t have a clue what they’re doing. You have filmmakers that don’t have a clue what they’re doing. We’re all in these little boxes on these streamers. TV, film – it’s all one big clusterf*** of content now.” Regarding Scarlett Johansson’s recent Blockbuster,
“looks like garbage to me. It looks like a bad video game. I’m embarrassed for those people. I’m embarrassed for Scarlett!”
On the other hand, Scarlett is proud of her performance. And, She should be. Due to a successful weekend opening, Black Widow garnished approximately $140 Million. Scarlett Jo stated that there were two factors that allowed the movie to be made but above all the timing was just right.
Black Widow: The timing was right
Two things happened to make the film work and allowed for it to be made. First, a box office exploding film was made known by the name of Black Panther with black leads, black voices, and an entire black world in Wakanda. According to Johansson, “‘Black Panther’ created space for both filmmakers and for diverse voices.” She continues, “And, I also think it gave the studio confidence that we would come and see those movies.
The second thing was the arrival of the #MeToo movement that gave female voices a platform and put them front and center around the world. Johansson stated,
“the other thing that happened was we could say what we wanted to say; we could make jokes about women’s trauma and the control of women’s bodies.”

“I think the expectation was that we were going to make a dark film and so we wanted to say ‘No, we’re not going to make a dark film because we’re not victims. These girls are going to kick ass.’”
Scarlett Johansson’s Pregnant
Scarlett Johansson with Husband Colin Jost, are pregnant amid Black Widow Success. Stephen Dorff criticizes Marvel movies and actress.
The Marvel actress is expecting with her new husband Colin Jost. The couple were married in the Fall of 20202 in a quiet and private ceremony in New York. And, she’s making an effort to keep a really low profile to maintain privacy around her pregnancy. She’s not doing much press release and is not engaging in her usual summer activities. As for the parents to be, Jost had stated that since the marriage, he had a desire for a family. Excitingly, it would be his first child but for Scarlett Johansson, her second. Because she had her first child, Rose, with now ex-husband Romain Dauriac.
Congratulations on Box Office success and the new arrival of your baby.
